San Jose is a great place to live during the wintertime. The winter months in San Jose are mild and pleasant (not too cold, but just the right amount of cool). Not only is the weather great, but there are many seasonal outdoor activities that make this time of year extra special. Whether you live downtown or outside of the city, there are plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy.

Winter Wonderland
Winter Wonderland is a festive, fun-filled adventure as part of San Jose’s Christmas in the Park. This exciting seasonal experience has tons of rides, holiday themed foods, and other fun attractions. This unique holiday experience only happens once per year, so don’t miss out on all the winter fun! Winter Wonderland runs from November 25th to January 3rd. This event is located adjacent to Christmas in the Park at Park Avenue and Paseo de San Antonio
in San Jose.
Downtown Ice
Ice skate underneath adorned palm trees at Downtown Ice and enjoy the festive decorations, musical displays and so much more. $15-$17 includes skate rental. Downtown Ice runs from November 17th through January 15th. For more information on tickets and times, visit their website.
The San Jose Nutcracker
This classic holiday-themed ballet is presented in partnership with History San Jose and shouldn’t be missed. Here, the familiar tale is told and also includes historical references to the significance of the Santa Clara Valley as the center of innovation. Come celebrate the season and Santa Clara Valley with this timeless show. Show runs from Dec. 15th through the 17th and 22nd through 24th.
For kids, there is My First Nutcracker, a one-hour ballet presentation of The San Jose Nutcracker perfect for children of all ages. Hammer Theatre, 101 Paseo de San Antonio Walk, San Jose.
San Jose Jazz Winter Fest
Attention all jazz fans! San Jose Jazz Winter Fest is back on February 18th. This gathering features jazz’s greatest in a swanky nightclub setting. Visit San Jose Jazz for more information. Featured artists will be announced on the website in mid-December.
